As a kid, going to McDonald’s and getting a Happy Meal was the ultimate dining experience. Not only did you get a delicious meal, but a toy to go along with it, all packaged in a fun, little red box. McDonald’s is now reimagining that experience with its new collaboration with Cactus Plant Flea Market, offering a new type of Happy Meal for adults.
McDonald’s has just unveiled the Cactus Plant Flea Market box, created in collaboration with Cynthia Lu’s streetwear label. The CPFM box comes with either a Big Mac or 10-piece McNuggets, plus fries, a drink, and one of four CPFM x McDonald’s collectible figurines. Grimace, the Hamburglar, and Birdie are back, redesigned with two sets of eyes in signature CPFM fashion, and are joined by Cactus Buddy!, the CPFM mascot.
“We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans,” says Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer. “I can’t wait to give fans a unique piece of art and culture as we dive headfirst into the dynamic world of Cactus Plant Flea Market together next week. With menu favorites like the Big Mac and McNuggets at the center of this collab, this is another way we’re reigniting a new generation’s love for our food and the brand.”
McDonald’s has been hinting at this collaboration for the past few days. This past Friday, McDonald’s tweeted “remember u are never too old for a happy meal” and changed its bios on social media to “::),” representing the face of Cactus Buddy!. An art installation of Ronald McDonald and Cactus Buddy sitting on a bench was also spotted in NYC yesterday:

Of course, this collaboration will also include apparel. Fans who purchase the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box on the McDonald’s App will be automatically entered for a chance to win exclusive merch, including CPFM x McDonald’s tees, hoodies, a Grimace Chair, and more. A full CPFM x McDonald’s collection will also be made available on Monday, October 3rd at 11am ET online at cpfmmcdonalds.com.
