Earlier this year, MM6 Maison Margiela previews a FW2020 collaboration with The North Face during London Fashion Week. We now have a look at some of the individual pieces in this collaborative collection.
This collection of outerwear sees a revival of TNF’s archival Expedition System, first introduced in 1990 as a series of detachable, layered pieces designed for extreme weather. Here, it is combined with MM6 Maison Margiela design cues with a focus on its magnified 6 motif.
Alongside mens and womenswear pieces, the collaboration offers padded circle coats, jackets, scarves, plus a pair of Margiela’s Tabi gloves. Featured throughout is an original zipper system that allows pieces like the Denali and Nuptse jackets to be directly integrated with other pieces such as the Mountain Kaban backpack.
