French celebrity TV show host and pop culture expert Sebastien Abdelhamid has teamed up with ASICS to create a collection based on the popular anime series Naruto Shippuden.
Based on the official teasers so far, it appears that this collection will focus on Sasuke and his older brother Itachi, though other characters will also likely be featured. One of the pairs teased is adorned with Sasuke’s Rinnegan on the tongue, while the laces are designed to look like Sasuke’s purple rope belt. Another shoe teased features Itachi’s Sharingan.
A third shoe expected to be part of this collection has also recently leaked, which appears to be based on Kakashi. It is a GEL-LYTE III dressed in a navy and grey color scheme with Hidden Leaf motifs on the lace dubrae and heels, as well as the red swirl on the toe that is seen on the uniforms of Konoha ninja. Kakashi’s Mangekyō Sharingan appears on the split tongue, though in a reverse color scheme. In the anime, Kakashi’s Sharingan was sometimes shown in this reverse color scheme due to animation errors, so this detail may be a nod to that.
The Naruto Shippuden x ASICS collection will be officially revealed at a special event at Le Grand Rex in Paris on March 18th.
