New Balance M997SOC XLD “Elevated Basics”

A nice brown leather jacket and a quality pair of denim jeans. The lifestyle favorite fit takes on sneaker form in the New Balance 997 “Elevated Basics.”

As the name implies, the “Elevated Basics” NB997 takes traditional basic materials, denim and brown leather, and upgrades them through the use of high-quality materials to create a lux feel.

Uppers feature a patinated, tumbled brown leather, mixed with stone-washed denim and rich brown suede present. A pop of purple from the sockliner pokes through on the collar, while the embroidery found on the heel and on the tongue’s “New Balance Made In USA” branding comes in an eggshell shade of white.

On the midsole, a burnt orange heel clip adds stability, while an ENCAP EVA foam midsole features hits of cream on heel and white forefoot, which in turn is contrasted by a black rubber outsole.
