New Balance Basketball Launches Positionless TWO WXY Model

New Balance is releasing a new basketball model that is built for anyone on the court. The TWO WXY is described as a positionless shoe that is inspired by the modern game, where players are no longer bound by their 1 through 5 positions.

Building off of what was started with the OMN1S, the TWO WXY emphasizes the two sided play of basketball, with the X and O in the name referencing playing offense and defense at a high level. Technical aspects of the shoe include Kinetic Stitch technology in the upper that provides a balance between stretch and support that players are looking for. FuelCell technology in the outsole provides a high rebound cushion that delivers the ideal blend of lightweight build and responsiveness to excel at the highest levels of play.

NBA players Dejounte Murray and Darius Bazley, both on the New Balance roster, have been wearing the TWO WXY this season. They both contributed to the shoes development to make it best experience for the player.

Murray has had several big games and shows love to the shoes ability to perform. He was quoted as saying, “I have played some of the best games of my career in this shoe so far this season. I think hoopers will realize just how dope this shoe is when they try it out for themselves.”

The New Balance TWO WXY will make its debut in two “My City” colorways, dressed in OKC and Spurs-inspired colors, on March 15th on newbalance.com, footlocker.com, and the Foot Locker family of retailers. Retail is set at $140. Additional colorways will be releasing throughout 2021.
