New Balance Hoops & Kawhi Leonard Unveil the KAWHI 2

Kawhi Leonard and New Balance Hoops officially unveil the two-time NBA Finals MVP’s new signature shoe, the New Balance KAWHI II.

Kawhi Leonard requested for the successor to his first signature model to be lighter and more explosive. To accomplish this, the New Balance Hoops design team developed FitWeave Lite, a light-weight woven textile that gives the wearer adaptive stretch and support. The tooling was also tweaked, featuring an updated performance plate that works in conjunction with the full-length FuelCell midsole for unprecedented energy return.

The KAWHI II makes its debut in a “New Money” colorway. This marks the third installment in the New Money series, with previous releasing including the KAWHI I and OMN1S. The colorway was created to inspire the next generation of athletes to build their own legacies as entrepreneurs and strive for excellence beyond sport, just as New Balance and Kawhi have done together.

“To release a second version of a signature shoe together with New Balance is an honor and a privilege,” says Kawhi. “My goal was to be fully immersed in every aspect of the design process to create a shoe that truly reflects me as a person and as an athlete. From the new innovation in the KAWHI II to the inspiration behind ‘New Money’ colorway, I hope the next generation of athletes strive for excellence on and off the court.”

Jack Harlow, the newest addition to the New Balance family, will debut the KAWHI II on-court tonight during the Ruffle’s NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. Kawhi will also wear the shoe during the NBA All-Star 75th Anniversary Ceremony on Sunday, February 20th.

Matching “New Money” apparel will release alongside the shoes, including a hoodie, pant, and tee. The New Balance KAWHI II “New Money” collection launches on March 19th at NewBalance.com and select retailers.
