Fresh off the release of their new collaboration with ASICS, sneaker retailer Nice Kicks has teamed up with adidas Consortium to bring longtime fans of the adidas BOOST era something special. The Nice Kicks x adidas Consortium Ultraboost “No Vacancy” is based off their original NMD collaboration released back in 2016 that helped propel BOOST to what it is today.
For this 5th anniversary release, Nice Kicks utilizes a “No Vacancy” theme, motivated by the nostalgic notion of going on a road trip with friends. The term “No Vacancy” also means “being full – having no more room.” Nice Kicks hopes this release inspires you to fill your head with positivity and offer No Vacancy to negativity and toxic feelings.
The OG NMD was inspired by the tie dye patterns found in San Francisco’s Haight Street neighborhood. The Ultraboost has that same pattern on its knitted upper, as well as a matte black cage and heel clip. Underfoot is a white BOOST midsole, gum Continental outsole and a red Torsion plate. The sneakers have a graphic on each insole, are laced with a set of black laces, and comes with an alternate set of red laces. The right tongue has Nice Kicks branding and the left tongue uses the adidas badge and sports logo.
This release marks the fifth and final use of tie-dye for Nice Kicks x adidas collabs, following the OG 2016 release, the Woodstock 50th Anniversary Ultraboost and its 2.0 counterpart, and the Ultra 4D. The Nice Kicks x adidas Consortium Ultraboost “No Vacancy” releases exclusively at Nice Kicks retail locations and on shopnicekicks.com on July 9th. See official photos of the kicks below.
