Sneaker designer and collaborator Frank Cooke has revealed a fresh take on the New Balance 992, a product of collaboration between retailer Nice Kicks, San Francisco’s Amoeba Music record store, and New Balance.
A recent Instagram post by Cooke reveals a 992 dressed in its classic shades of grey, with contrast coming into play with Golden Mustard mesh and suede on the forefoot, tongue and ankle. Teal ties the ensemble together, literally, with the laces and again with the “992” stamp. These colors are inspired by Amoeba Music’s iconic neon signs.
Additional images shared by Nice Kicks’ Jo Deguzman reveal a second colorway, dressed primarily in black, with teal playing a larger role this time around. Red accents are added, dressing the “992” branding and laces, as well as the “PEACE” and “MUSIC” branding on the heel panels.
