Fresh on the heels of this era’s first amphibious hiker, the Nike ACG team has announced a brand-new silhouette designed for summer hiking and casual trail running.
Dubbed the ACG Air Nasu, the silhouette is named after the town of Nasu, Japan, known for its world-class hiking and natural beauty. While many recent ACG offerings serve up bold logos and in-your-face colorways, the new model seems relatively versatile and understated in comparison; branding is kept to a minimum save for ACG logos on the tongue and heel in addition to a small rearfoot Swoosh.
The Nasu features a “no-sew” rubberized mesh upper for superior durability. While the toebox and sides of the shoe feature slightly more porous material, hard overlays surround the lateral foot edge and protect the toe tips from impact and debris. Under the shoe’s hood is Nike’s signature Air cushioning and an outsole that improves upon the same lug pattern used on last year’s Terra Zaherra. Finally, the shoe is rounded out by reflective hits along the lace loops and heel tab.
The Nike ACG Air Nasu will release in two initial colorways on August 8th via Nike.com and the Nike app with additional styles to follow. For more ACG news, check out the upcoming ACG Mt. Fuji collection dropping on the same date.
