Nike ACG has had a relatively busy year with the reintroduction of the Air Deschutz, the debut of the Air Nasu and Zoom AO, and the release of the Mount Fuji apparel collection. Now, however, they’re taking things to the next level to gear you up for the oncoming winter in sustainable and extremely functional fashion with two new shoes and a range of fine-tuned apparel.

The collection is designed as a “versatile layering system” and is both inspired and named by the features and trails of Oregon’s Smith Rock, a volcanic structure and state park. Spearheading the apparel side of the collection is the Nike ACG Misery Ridge GORE-TEX 3L jacket, a versatile shell featuring 100% recycled polyester fabrics that features a GORE membrane to keep you dry for long years and numerous squalls to come.

Waterproofing is often nothing without warmth, however, and ACG has you covered with pieces like the Rope De Dope packable puffer jacket and the Polartec Wolf Tree Hoodie. Women’s-specific offerings also include a vest version of the Rope De Dope jacket and a Wolf Tree crewneck/fleece pant set. While the collection’s apparel is extremely impressive on its own, it’s made more impactful by its use of sustainable materials; according to The Swoosh, 85% of the garments use over 90% recycled content.

The collection’s footwear offerings are just as tough. This year’s ACG Air Nasu gets a Gore-Tex infused update for water protection that doesn’t compromise speed or weight, but the real heavy hitter of this collection is the brand new ACG Mountain Fly GORE-TEX.

The Mountain Fly uses technology from Nike’s NEXT% marathon running system (including its carbon fiber plate) and a high-tech React Foam midsole for superior, durable energy return. The shoe also uses a wrap-around waffle outsole for an aggressive, omni-directional traction system that results in a shoe that would look right at home in a Metal Gear Solid game. The model is set to come in both a khaki/white/black colorway and a black/white/purple edition.

The Nike ACG Holiday 2020 collection releases on November 12th, with the Mountain Fly sneakers dropping via SNKRS and the rest dropping through the Nike App and Nike Website. You can take a look at product shots of the shoes and lookbook shots of the apparel down below.
