The Nike Adapt BB 2.0 “MAG” Gets a US Release Date

0

Original Story (07/29/20): Ever since 1989’s Back to the Future Part II depicted Marty McFly in a pair of cutting-edge, self-lacing, and completely fictional Nike MAGs, it’s been one of the Swoosh’s ultimate goals to make the scene a real possibility. While 2016 saw the release of an extremely limited self-lacing pair, Nike has since made it a mission to further integrate auto lacing systems into its consumer products.

Their most recent answer to this, the Adapt BB 2.0, is now set to pay homage to the root of its existence with a colorway unmistakably meant to evoke the original Air MAG. Similar to its 1.0 predecessor, this release comes equipped with a Wolf Grey durable mesh upper that encloses the Nike Adapt lacing mechanism (controllable via iPhone or Android app) and is topped with TPU accents and a textured white Swoosh. The Adapt BB’s heel and midsole come in the MAG’s signature blue marbled pattern, with the Zoom Air’s forefoot placement accented by hits of color that evoke the lighting system on the on-screen model.

The Nike Adapt BB 2.0 “MAG” is currently set to release via SNKRS Japan on August 9th for ¥38,500, but it’s possible a global release will follow. As always, stay tuned for updates.
