Originally launched in 1997 as a signature model for Penny Hardaway, the Air Foamposite One reached peak popularity in the early 2010s with the launch of highly coveted colorways such as the “Galaxy” in 2012 and the Supreme collab in 2014.
Nike is now in the midst of a Foamposite revival. Kicked off last year with the COMME des GARÇONS collab, the new age of Foamposite includes the return of the fan-favorite “Metallic Red” colorway, as well as new colorways such as this newly-revealed “Dream A World” pack.
With its named pulled from the famous I Dream a World poem by Langston Hughes, the pack features two colorways of the Air Foamposite One, one in black and another in white. Both feature a blurry celestial-like design on the Foamposite shell, reminiscent of the 2016 “Northern Lights” colorway. Both also feature suede overlays on the eyelets and ankle collar, as well as a mesh inner bootie. “Dream A World” branding appears on the insoles in a hand painted-style font, as does a message that reads “Luck / Success Happens When Preparation Meets Opportunity.” This font even appears on the lateral carbon fiber shank, though it’s hard to make out what this section says. Additional motivational messaging appears on the packaging.
