Original Story (04/09/22): Following the reveal of the “Los Angeles” colorway, we now have the reveal of another 40th Anniversary Edition of the Air Force 1, this time honoring NYC’s Little Accra.

Little Accra is the nickname for the heavily Ghanaian area of the Bronx near 167th Street, named after Ghana’s capital and largest city. The “Little Accra” Air Force 1 comes dressed in a color palette that includes red, beige, and orange, with gold embroidery on the side panels and heels similar to that found on traditional Ghanaian clothing.

The lace dubraes are adorned with Ghanaian symbols known as adinkra. The left shoe depicts Sankofa, symbolizing the importance of learning from the past, while the right shoe features Nserewa, a symbol of wealth and abundance. “Sharing Stories” and “Building Community” messaging is found on the graphic insoles, while “Little Accra” is embroidered on the heels in a graffiti-like font for an NYC touch.

Check out official images of the Nike Air Force 1 Anniversary “Little Accra” below. There’s two adult SKUs for these, one for men’s and one for women’s. Also dropping in grade school and preschool sizing. Expect these to release in the coming months on Nike.com and at select retailers.

Update (07/29/22): The Nike Air Force 1 “Little Accra” drops on August 12th on SNKRS and at select retailers.
