The Nike Air Force 1 Chicago released today at select Chicago retailers and Nike.com, but fans at last night’s Bulls vs Warriors game were granted early access to the barbershop-inspired shoe.

At the end of the first quarter, a surprise announcement was made on the jumbotron letting everyone in the United Center know that they could purchase the AF-1 Chicago via the Nike app during the remainder of the game before it’s official launch. Drew Henderson, owner of local barbershop No Cuts No Glory and the inspiration for this AF-1, was also at the game sitting courtside and was given a special shout-out following the announcement.

Drew cuts the hair of a number of NBA players and other Chicago athletes. With that in mind, and given the community-focus of the shoe itself, Nike wanted to provide the Chicago sports community with early access in a way that has never been done before in Chicago.
