Nike Air Force 1 Low “Chicago”

0

Chi-town stand up! Nike will be paying tribute to the best city in the Midwest, our hometown of Chicago, with an Air Force 1 Low. What seemingly looks like a regular black Air Force 1, upon deeper examination you can see that this sneaker is actually full of many details that pay tribute to the Windy City.

The most obvious of these features is the red and blue tongue tag (dressed in the same colors as the Chicago flag) with the Chicago skyline on it. If you look at the heel, you can see that it is made out of cow fur, a possible reference to Mrs. O’Leary’s cow, who allegedly caused the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The insole is painted Irish Green, the same color that the Chicago River is dyed every St. Patrick’s Day. The inside of the tongue comes in a pinstriped red and white, reminiscent of White Sox uniforms from the early ’70s. Finally, the sole of the sneaker features a checkerboard pattern, paying tribute to the historic Checkerboard Lounge that resided in the city’s South Side.

No release info yet, so stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more details. Check out the official images below in the meantime.
