Official Look at the Upcoming Nike Air Force 1 “Raygun”

1

Original Story (06/06/20): It appears Nike will be bringing back its popular Raygun colorway next year, this time on the classic Air Force 1. This yellow and orange color scheme is a reference to the Roswell Rayguns, a fictional ABA basketball team created for a 2002 Nike Basketball ad campaign. We first saw this colorway on the Nike SB Dunk Low in 2005, which returned late last year in tie-dye form.

This upcoming Air Force 1 is expected to match the black “Away” version of the 2005 SB Dunk, complete with the little green alien logo on the heel. Matching apparel is also expected to accompany the AF1 in its launch. No photos of the shoe currently exist, but you can check out the mock-up of the Raygun AF1 below. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on this release.

Update (10/28/20): Official images of the upcoming Nike Air Force 1 “Raygun” have arrived, which you can check out below. Instead of an alien logo on the heel, these feature a basketball that resembles the head of the Roswell Rayguns alien mascot. In other “Raygun” news, images of a “Raygun” Kyrie 7 and toddler Air Uptempo have also surfaced.

Update (07/14/20): According to py_rates_, the “Raygun” Air Force 1 will come dressed in a “White/Black-Orange Flash-Amarillo” color blocking, so it will probably resemble the white “Home” colorway of the 2005 SB Dunk Low instead of the black “Away” version. A Spring 2021 release is expected.
