Unless you’re Dr. Dre and plucking a brand new pair everyday from an immaculate collection, opening a grey box to a fresh pair of all-white Air Force 1s is a gratifying process. Nike is taking that experience a step further with a twist; a special version of the model covered in tear-away paper.
Dressed in a “White/Sail” color scheme, the Air Force 1 comes carefully wrapped in an all-over “AF1” printed tissue paper. In an effort to seal an already pretty well known legacy, a stamped “Timeless Classic Keep Clean” phrasing accompanies the tissue near the heel. The paper pays homage to the unboxing of a fresh pair, peeled away to reveal the classic white construction. The shoe sits upon a yellowed Sail rubber sole for a vintage-inspired look.
Nearly forty years after its 1982 debut, the Nike Air Force 1 continues to be one of the brand’s most popular shoes. More than 1700 colorways have been officially released, not to mention the infinite number of custom aftermarket editions. The future of the Air Force 1 remains as bright as that first unboxing.
There’s no release date yet for the Nike Air Force 1 “Timeless Classic,” but stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more info and grab a first look below.
