Original Story (07/06/22): In 2002, Nike introduced the Air Force 1 “West Indies” to celebrate the West Indian Day Parade Carnival held annually on the first Monday of September in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Four different colorways were released in subsequent years between 2002 and 2005. It has now been revealed that Nike is bringing back the OG 2002 colorway in celebration of its 20th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1.

The original “West Indies” Air Force 1 takes the classic white-on-white color scheme and adds hits of green on the heel, sockliner, tongue tag, and outsole. The defining feature is the West Indies logo embroidered on the lateral heel in Carribean colors: red, green, and yellow. West Indies branding is also found on the tongue tags, lace dubraes, while insoles come with graphics that list all of the small island countries of the Caribbean. The 2022 version stay trues to the OG 2002 release, save for the added “Anniversary Edition” text on the tongue tags.
