Nike Officially Unveils the Air Jordan XXXV

Nike has officially unveiled the Air Jordan XXXV.

As always, the all-new model is packed to the brim with new technology to drive athletes to play at their most powerful. Possibly the biggest innovation is the shoe’s emphasis on its updated Eclipse Plate, a technology originally introduced in last year’s Air Jordan XXXIV that combines custom thermoplastic plates with Zoom Air plates to allow for explosive attacks and step-offs. The model’s upper also marks a return to premium materials like leather and suede (after the XXXIV’s striking minimalism). Suede paneling extends from the forefoot in an arch over the model’s exaggerated Eclipse Plate midsole panel, meeting once again in the back to wrap around the heel.

On these materials, Jordan footwear designer Tate Kuerbis noted:

“Integrating premium materials and textures was a priority for the Air Jordan XXXV. The brand has a history of giving these materials an aspirational quality. When players see it, when they touch it, they feel like they have the power of the Jumpman behind them.”

The model will release throughout the rest of this year in multiple striking and storied colorways. The first, dubbed “Center of Gravity,” uses contrasting and eye-catching reds, purples, greys, and greens to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the OG Air Jordan V colorways. Next, the “Warrior” colorway uses the classic Jordan “Bred” color scheme to celebrate Rui Hachimura of the Washington Wizards. November will see a Fire Red rendition of the model followed by a Zion Williamson-inspired NOLA colorway that uses faux gator leather and iridescent paneling to celebrate the diversity of New Orleans. Finally, a “Morpho” colorway inspired by the grace of a butterfly and made as a tribute to Chinese Men’s National Basketball Team all-star Guo Ailun’s playstyle will release in December.
