Along with the return of the Air Max 90 “Infrared,” the colorway that welcomed the model to the Air Max family 30 years ago, Nike is releasing an “Archetype” version of the colorway that draws inspiration from the OG’s creation process.
This offering comes dressed in similar aesthetics of the “Infrared” colorway, but strips it of its grey suede and black leather paneling, replacing it with white to give it a prototype vibe. Nike takes a deconstructed approach on the sneaker by giving it a rough edge finish along the sock collar, contrast stitching, and scribbling over the Air unit on the midsole inspired by Tinker Hatfield’s early sketches of the model. The shoe comes with OG Air Max 3 build in celebration of the model’s 30th anniversary.
