Nike Unveils Rugged CORDURA Air Max 90 “Surplus” Pack

Nike is set to release a round of rugged redresses of the Air Max 90, one of the Swoosh’s most beloved running shoes of all time.

Leaked product images show three colorways of an Air Max 90 constructed largely of CORDURA® nylon that should hit shelves soon. Dubbed the Air Max 90 SURPLUS (likely a nod to the rough-and-tough nylon often found on military surplus gear), the shoes retain the model’s heritage despite having the physical and visual toughness of an army boot. The colorways, too, evoke a military look, with one model coming in a desert tan, another coming in an all-black colorway, and a final model arriving in classic olive green.

The only notable changes to the silhouette’s DNA come in the form of small toebox accents along the mudguard paneling (in safety orange, matching black, and volt respectively) and SURPLUS co-branding on the shoe’s rubber tongue badges. It also appears that the AM90’s outsole tread has been beefed up.

While no release date has been confirmed for the Air Max 90 SURPLUS, it’s likely that they’ll hit Nike’s website soon (as well as third-party retailers). Pricing has yet to be officially announced, but it’s currently rumored at $150. In the meantime, check out photos down below courtesy of US11.
