Nike is releasing a pack of Air Max sneakers inspired by the Japanese mini-mart. Along with the Air Max 95 “Swoosh Mart” and the Air Max 90 “Onigiri,” we now see the addition of the Air Max 97 “Energy Jelly” to the pack.
This Air Max 97 features a collage-like design for the base of the upper that is made to resemble energy jelly packets that can be found at Japanese convenience stores. Its blue stripe and metallic silver overlays with droplet graphics further continue the Japanese energy jelly packaging theme. The tongue features reflective 3M detailing, while the uppers sits atop a white midsole and a glittery and milky translucent outsole.
The Nike Air Max 97 “Energy Jelly” is slated to release as part of the Air Max “Mini-Mart” Series on March 19th, 2021 via select retailers and Nike.com, though for now it looks like it will be a Japan-exclusive.
