Nike Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet” 2022 Release Date

1

Original Story (10/11/21): Nike will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Air Max 97 next year by bringing back some of the model’s OG colorways. This includes the fan-favorite “Silver Bullet.”

The Nike Air Max 97 debuted in 1997 and was designed by Christian Tresser. It featured a water ripple-inspired upper and was the first model to employ a full-length Max Air unit. Last retro’d in 2016/2017 for its 20th anniversary, the Nike Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet” features metallic silver mesh uppers, leather overlays, and 3M reflective detailing. Red Swooshes are found on the tongues and side panels, with additional red hits found on the black heel tab and outsole. Remaining as true to the original as possible, the 2022 retro will feature a split detail on the lateral, unlike previous releases which only featured this OG detail on the medial side.

Check out the OG Nike Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet” from 1997 below and expect its return sometime in 2022 on Nike.com and at select retailers. Stay tuned tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on this upcoming retro release.
