A year after the launch of the Zoom Freak 2, Nike Basketball unveils the third signature shoe for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, aptly named the Zoom Freak 3.
The Zoom Freak 3 was built to create space on the floor, with tooling designed specifically for Giannis’ dynamic and downhill style of play. The two Zoom Air units under the ball of the foot help absorb energy and provide responsiveness, while the uniquely designed upper and strap help keep Giannis’ foot and center of gravity contained. These help Giannis maintain control as he glides towards the basket around defenders using his signature Euro step.
“One of the hallmarks of his athleticism is transferring energy quickly from leg to leg to maneuver his body through gaps,” says Ross Klein, Sr. Creative Director for Men’s Performance Footwear at Nike. “Giannis works his foot like a gas and brake. He also works all different angles of his foot as he’s driving to the basket, so we wanted to contour the design to fit the way he transitions from step to step.”
The Nike Zoom Freak 3 launches in two colorways: a black and purple “Project 34” and an orange “Stay Freaky” colorway. Both release globally on July 1st and in North America in August on Nike.com and select retailers.
