Nike Introduces the D/MS/X Sting in a Throwback Colorway

0

Nike has unveiled the newest silhouette in its D/MS/X lifestyle series. D/MS/X shoes are known for experimenting with materials and proportions, and the upcoming D/MS/X Sting “Starfish” is no different.

The release is a reinterpretation of the original Nike Sting from 1978. Just like the OG release, the model incorporates a two-tone upper that sees the toebox shrouded in an orange suede-textured material that reaches all the way to the edge of the shoe’s white Swoosh. The back end of the shoe appears to use an updated Kelly green ripstop nylon broken only by a branded white leather heel piece. The upper is rounded out by an orange sewn eyestay and three green plastic eyelets (a nod to the OG Sting’s first-of-its-kind D-ring eyelets) near the top of the shoe.

The model sits atop a thick white rubber midsole with an all-new integrated blue TPU piece that provides structure and motion to the silhouette. The shoe sits atop a gum waffle sole that wraps up atop the toebox for a retro aesthetic that ties together an otherwise-futuristic model.

The shoe is expected to release sometime this fall via Nike.com for a relatively modest $100 USD. In the meantime, check out photos of the model (as well as its 1978 original) down below.
