After years of sporadic and unique releases, Nike’s ISPA design division is gearing up to make a massive impact on Nike’s footwear offerings.

Representing the four creative tenets of the design philosophy—Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt—the ISPA name has historically stood for cutting-edge design, experimental manufacturing techniques, and thoughtful measures to provide the wearer comfort and adaptable style for multiple conditions. For instance, the line’s first shoe saw a waterproof boot liner in nearly unchanged raw form atop a React midsole for a shoe tooled specifically to the needs of the city commuter. While ISPA has dropped more shoes and begun to dip its toe into apparel as time has gone on, their late summer/Fall lineup is truly a force to be reckoned with.

ISPA is serving up five entirely new silhouettes from now until September: the ISPA Road Warrior, the Overreact FK and Overreact Sandal, the ISPA Flow 2020, and the ISPA Drifter. Each shoe is incredibly unique, cutting-edge, and purpose-built for a specific kind of wearer.

ISPA Road Warrior

The Road Warrior, which has been floating around for a bit as an unnamed model, makes use of Nike’s new double-stacked Zoom Air technology and double underfoot springplates for everyday comfort inspired by the needs of elite athletes. A breathable split-toe knit upper featuring a notched pull tab system sits atop the unique midsole and an outdoors inspired tread for all-terrain capabilities. The silhouette will hit the market on July 10th, 2020.

ISPA Overreact FK

The Overreact FK represents the ultimate ode to Nike’s React foam. The midsole is a striking departure from the sleek, biomechanical tuning seen on most React shoes. In pursuit of the ultimate comfortable shoe, Nike has reconfigured their heatmap-based cushioning placement seen originally on the Element React 87 and engineered a “series of interlocking internal geometries” to create something unlike any React runner before it. Additionally, the shoe has no insole or strobel, forging an unusual direct connection between foot and foam. Finally, The upper—comprised of a mix of recycled Flyknit—highlights the “Scavenge” pillar of ISPA ethos, rounding out a wildly innovative and uniquely sustainable shoe. The ISPA Overreact FK will make its global debut just before the ISPA Road Warrior on July 9th, 2020.

ISPA Overreact Sandal

The Overreact Sandal, on the other hand, uses the same midsole tooling atop a slightly reworked traction system. The upper is completely different from its sister shoe, though; the sandal features perforated mesh between an intricate lockdown system designed to keep you ventilated, comfortable, and protected. The ISPA Overreact Sandal Releases on July 31st, 2020.

ISPA Flow 2020

The ISPA Flow 2020 takes ventilation to the extreme with a specially-designed perforated midsole and outsole to allow for full-foot airflow. The upper is constructed of a durable but highly breathable mesh designed to handle extreme wear in the dog days of summer. Finally, a futuristic lacing system and unique colorways add up to a highly innovative sneaker built to handle hottest of hot weather conditions. The ISPA Flow 2020 releases globally on August 13th, 2020.

ISPA Drifter

Last but most certainly not least, the ISPA Drifter utilizes a unique split-toe construction atop a midsole that incorporates Regrind ZoomX foam for a lightweight and high-performance sneaker for the urban environment. The Drifter also uses a unique lacing system that allows for superior lockdown customization via adjustable toggles both at the top and midpoint of the eyestays. The ISPA Drifter will hit shelves on September 1st, 2020.

The extended series of footwear releases is also complimented by a series of apparel pieces featuring similarly innovative technical construction. Stay tuned as pricing and style code info are released about the new Nike ISPA line leading up to their releases.
