Nike’s wildest shoe of 2020 is getting another colorway.
The Nike ISPA Road Warrior made significant waves for a non-collab Nike shoe when it released this past July, and it’s not hard to figure out why: it is quite possibly the most absurd looking silhouette any shoe manufacturer has released this year. The model incorporates a durable plastic zip-tie style lockdown system, a floating heel inspired by Nike Shox prototypes, a massive asymmetric tread-style wraparound outsole, and double-stacked Zoom Air pods. On top of all of this, the shoe is one of Nike’s extremely few models to use a split-toe tabi style construction, with the last release including a pair of tabi socks in the box. It also came at a truly eye-watering price: $500.
The shoe is so unique that it spawned numerous editorials about the future of sneakers, and it even caught the attention of adidas titan Kanye West. Now, however, we have our first look at yet another rendition of the model from A-COLD-WALL mastermind Samuel Ross.
While there’s absolutely nothing in the way of official release info thus far, the colorway is significantly different than the initial release’s look. The model uses darker and bolder tones than its predecessor, coloring the “midsole” in a pale volt and incorporating purple and green accents into the primarily black upper. The shoe’s unique lockdown system and outsole are also both entirely blacked-out, but the Road Warrior’s Zoom Air pods appear to be multicolored and seem to show hits of light blue and deep indigo.
While there’s no evidence that this is an A-COLD-WALL collaboration yet, it’s always possible that Ross and the Swoosh have more tricks up their sleeve. Check out the designer’s photos of the model down below and stay tuned for more release information on the all-new ISPA Road Warrior.
