Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Bruce Lee” and “Bruce Lee Alt” Release Info

2

Original Story (04/30/20): It seems like Nike was planning to release a Bruce Lee-themed basketball collection consisting of the Kyrie 6 in two colorways and a Kobe 5 Protro. Unfortunately with Kobe’s passing, that release is now up in the air. Following a first look at the “Bruce Lee” Kyrie 6, we now have a first look at the accompanying Nike Kobe 5 Protro.

This Nike Kobe 5 Protro comes in alternate colorway of the Nike Kobe 5 “Bruce Lee” that released in 2010. The Protro version is dressed in black and grey with red and gold detailing. Four slashes appear on the upper near the toe box, just like on the pair that released ten years ago, a reference to Bruce Lee’s wounds in Enter the Dragon.

Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for any updates on this release. We’re hopeful to see a release sometime this year. Grab a first look below in the meantime.

Update (05/15/20): Following a detailed look at the alternate version of the “Bruce Lee” Kobe 5s, we can now confirm that the original 2010 “Bruce Lee” Kobe 5s were also planned to release in Protro form. None of Bryant’s signature shoes have released since his passing so we’re still not sure if these will drop, but they exist. Grab a first look at the Protros below, courtesy of The Sneaker Brief:
