Nike’s “Mamba Week” celebration of the life and legacy of Kobe Bryant has kicked off today on what would have been Kobe’s 42nd birthday.

The full week of programming and product offerings kicked off with the launch of a film titled “Better,” narrated by Kendrick Lamar. The film embodies the Mamba Mentality spirit, which in Kobe’s own words is “to constantly try to be the best version of yourself. It’s a constant quest to try to be better today than you were yesterday.”

The “Mamba Week” Hub on Nike’s website has been updated to reveal some of the programming for the week. Later today at 2pm Central there will be a YouTube Live Conversation with Sabrina Ionescu and Lisa Leslie where they will speak on Mamba Mentality and Kobe’s impact on growing youth sport, specifically the women’s game. Watch here.

Also revealed is the Mamba Mentality challenges for the Nike Run Club and Nike Training Club apps. Run 8.24 miles this week and unlock an exclusive Mamba Mentality badge on NRC, while NTC users can join in on a special benchmark test throughout the week.

Starting on National Kobe Day, August 24th, Kobe fans will be able to channel their inner Mamba and share their commitment with the world to better today than they were yesterday on mamba-forever.com.

Mamba Week ends on Saturday, August 29th with Mambacitas Virtual Academy, an opportunity for girls age 8 – 17 to hear directly from WNBA athletes on how sport has made a positive impact on their life. The Zoom session will begin at 2pm Central. Click here to sign and for more info.

Have a great Mamba Week everyone and remember to Just Be Better.
