Original Story (03/21/22): 2022 is a big year for Nike LeBron retros. Along with 10 year anniversary releases of the LeBron 9 (such as the “Big Bang”) and the release of the LeBron 4 “Fruity Pebbles,” retros of the LeBron 2 and LeBron 3 are also in the works.
As confirmed by Nike designer Jason Petrie during a SNKRS Live episode last month, the 2004 Nike LeBron 2 “Midnight Navy” will soon be making its return, marking the first ever retro run of LeBron James’ second signature model. The 2022 retro mirrors the OG release, with Midnight Navy ballistic mesh making up the base of the upper and white leather paneling overlaid on top. Other details include a laser-etched pattern on the ankle collar and a removable ankle strap. This colorway is also called “USA” as Bron wore these during the 2004 Olympics as a member of Team USA.
The Nike LeBron 2 “Midnight Navy” is currently expected to drop this September via SNKRS and select retailers, with More LeBron 2 colorways slated to follow. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
