Original Story (05/20/22): The Nike Zoom LeBron 3 is back for another retro run. The model was originally released in 2005 and most recently saw a re-release throughout 2018 and 2019 in a handful of colorways. More colorways are dropping in 2022, including this new “Barbershop” iteration.
First previewed by Nike designer Jason Petrie back in February, this LeBron 3 comes almost entirely in black, save for red, white, and blue straps on the side panels. While the color of the stripes are a nod to barbershops and LeBron’s The Shop talk show, there are details that also pay tribute to LeBron James’ family and hometown. “BBZ” is embroidered on the medial toe on the left shoe, nodding to James children Bronny (B), Bryce (B), and Zhuri (Z). The right shoe features “330” embroidery, the area code of Akron, Ohio. The red, white, and blue stripes are also the same colors as the Akron seal and Ohio state flag.
