Nike is set to commemorate this year’s London Marathon with a release of multiple themed colorways of their flagship running shoes, a range that can carry you through everything from a long-distance race to any given training day at lightning speed.
First up is the flagship Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT%, the Swoosh’s record-shattering marathon shoe famously worn in early form by Eliud Kipchoge for his sub-2-hour race in Vienna. The shoe comes in two colorways that pay tribute to Kipchoge, one in the colors of Kenya (his home country) and another that’s reminiscent of the original prototype Vienna race colorway. The Kenya model drops on October 11th exclusively on the Nike Running Club app for UK customers with a wider release next year, while the Vienna colorway is set to release globally on October 12th.
The shoe also appears in “Mango” form as part of the Fast Family Pack (which also includes the other two NEXT% shoes and the Pegasus 37), which is inspired by the brake lights seen in high-end racecars as they navigate their top speeds. Alongside the Alphafly, a “Mango” ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT%, Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% and Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% Flyease appear in a reddish-orange glow. The Fast Family Pack is rounded out by lavender/orange and black/orange redresses of the Nike Zoom Pegasus 37, a running shoe more tailored for everyday expeditions and road training. The pack is available already for Nike Members in Greater China, and it’ll drop globally “in early October.”
