Nike unveils its seventh and final jersey in the 2021 City Connect Series. Following the reveals of the Boston Red Sox, Florida Marlins, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Francisco Giants, we now take a look at the City Connect jerseys for the reigning World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Releasing ahead of Latino Heritage Month, the jersey features “Los Dodgers” across the chest as a recognition of the lasting impact of the team’s Latino fans and players. This is an added bonus to the celebration of the Latino community that occurs throughout the season at Viva Los Dodgers events.
The City Connect jersey comes in Dodger blue and features the traditional team script and red numbers on the front. The player’s will also be wearing matching blue pants as part of their City Connect uniform, making it the first time in franchise history that the team is completely decked out in Dodger blue.
The sleeves of the jersey feature a subtle spray paint design, a nod to L.A.’s street art culture and the murals of iconic Dodgers’ moments found across the city. The Dodgers also worked with local artists Jonas Swyer, Fernando Valdez Zamora, Michelle Ruby Guerrero, Hector Arias, Chris Corona, and Michael Villanueva Matugas to bring the city’s street art culture to Dodger Stadium with murals on both the Left and Right Field Loge Terraces.
The Nike MLB Los Angeles Dodgers City Connect Jersey and accompanying fan gear such as hoodies, tees, and hats will be available starting today, August 19th, on the Nike website and app, the MLB Shop, the @NikeDiamond IG Shop, and select retailers. The Dodgers will debut the uniforms on-field on August 20th.
