Nike’s NY vs. NY basketball tournament has officially returned. Taking place at iconic parks across NYC, the annual tournament celebrates basketball culture all summer long by inviting young hoopers to represent their neighborhood and showcase their skills. The event is known to draw the attention of celebrities and athletes alike, all coming out to check out the next generation of emerging athletes.
The 2022 series kicked off last week with games at Watson and Dyckman and will conclude at Rucker Park for the championship on August 13th. To celebrate the tournament, Nike has released special “NY vs. NY” product. Following up last year’s “NY vs. NY” Dunk Low is an Air Force 1. It features a black leather and mesh upper with embroidered details in green inspired by city transit lines. These lines intersect with the names of NYC parks known for hosting basketball tournaments, including Gersh Park, Tri-State, and Lincoln Park. Nike has also dropped an assortment of tees, including one that matches the AF-1s.
