Nike Enlists Megan Thee Stallion for “Play New” Campaign

Nike has enlisted Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion to help out with the brand’s “Play New” campaign, created with a focus on encouraging people to discover sport in new ways.

In a new video, the Grammy Award-winning artist shares that when she was growing up, because of her long legs, people would tell her to try sports like basketball, volleyball, and track. And though she tried doing those things, they just weren’t for her. With this “Play New” campaign, Thee Hot Girl coach wants all the Hotties worldwide to know not every athlete is built the same, and sport is whatever you make it.

“I think it’ll be very cool for people to see the fact that I did try to do every sport and I didn’t get discouraged because I knew that I was going to figure out something that made me feel good, something that made me feel confident. And dance is my sport. Performing is my sport. And if you think this don’t take no work and no effort and no sweat, you’re wrong.” – Megan Thee Stallion

Along with the video, the campaign includes a workout with Megan Thee Stallion on the Nike Training Club (NTC) app. It features exclusive set of core and lower body workouts featuring Thee Hot Girl Coach herself and Nike Trainer Tara Nicolas to build endurance and strengthen your body-ody-ody. Plus, hear from Megan on her secrets to wellness and watch as she guides you through a one-of-a-kind mindfulness experience. You can also shop the looks worn by Megan in the campaign on Nike.com.
