Now that the Gundam Unicorn x Nike SB Dunk Highs have hit the market and are in the public’s hands, a new design detail has come to light. Did you know that these feature removable paint? We sure as heck didn’t.

Similar to the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 “LA to Chicago” and other SB wear-away releases, the Gundam Dunk Highs are designed to change colors from the scuffing they endure while getting skated in. Youtuber Topz World sped up the process by taking acetone to the white paint of his “RX-0” colorway and revealing the red layer underneath. It appears that the “Banshee” colorway also has this feature, with a layer of copper hue under the charcoal grey paneling.

Hopefully someone with the “Banshee” colorway can share a look at those with the paint removed as well. Check out Topz World’s video of him removing the white paint on his Gundam SBs above, as well as additional photos below.
