Original Story (02/25/22): It appears that Nike will be continuing its annual “Be True” series this year with a new collection celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. While last year’s collection featured silhouettes such as the Blazer Low and Air Max Pre Day, the 2022 collection includes a “Be True” edition of the Nike SB Dunk Low.
At first glance, this Dunk may look pretty plain, with white dressing the majority of the upper, though there may be more than meets the eye. In the first look photos, the overlays seem to have a slight pink tint to them, which may indicate that they wear away to reveal a hidden layer. Other features include a zippered stash pocket on the tongue and “BE TRUE” branding embroidered in a rainbow of colors on the lateral heel. More rainbow colors can be found on the Swoosh stitching and the squiggly stitching across the heels. Rounding out the design details are color-changing heel panels, a gradient Swoosh design on the inner and outer tongue tags, and a gradient design on the injected Phylon midsole.
