Original Story (03/18/20): While Nike SB’s GR releases for April include the Dunk Low in “Blue Fury” and “Muslin,” the Orange Label release for the month includes a Dunk Mid dressed in the “Freshwater” colorway of the ’90s classic Air Griffey Max 1.

Originally released in 1996 and most recently re-released in 2016, this Seattle Mariners-inspired colorway is one of the OG colorways of the first signature sneaker of former MLB outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. Like the Air Griffey, this Dunk Mid features a strap, which features the number “58” instead of Griffey’s number “24.” The “58” is a number frequently used by Nike SB as 5 and 8 resemble the letters S and B.

Look for the Nike SB Dunk Mid “Griffey” to release sometime in April (if not delayed). Pairs should start arriving on StockX soon though. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more news and updates on this release.

Update (04/20/20): 35th North has announced an email raffle for the only US release of the Freshwater SB Dunk Mids. 75% of stock will go to Washington state residents, and 25% will go to the rest of the US. See details below.

Update (04/17/20): Following an overseas release, the Seattle Mariners-inspired Nike SB Dunk Mid “Griffey” will get a US release on April 24th in honor of #24 Ken Griffey Jr. The drop will be exclusive to Seattle’s 35th North Skate Shop and 35th Avenue in Federal Way. The shop will release the details to their online raffle on Monday.

Update (03/26/20): We now have a detailed look at the Nike SB Dunk Mid “Griffey.” The pair will release via select overseas retailers such as Caliroots on April 1st for a retail price of $115 USD. Grab a closer look in the photos below.
