Following a first look at the shoe in November, Nike and Tom Sachs have officially unveiled the Mars Yard 2.5. However, instead of announcing a release date, the shoe will first go through a Wear Tester Program.
As explained in the video above, the Mars Yard 2.5 has gone through testing in a controlled environment, but this type of testing can only get you so far. For further improvement, the shoe must go into the real world. Dedicated athletes will be chosen to put the Mars Yard 2.5 through its paces, record their experiences, and log firsthand feedback. Shoes will then be returned, sanitized, studied, repaired and reissued. The full process will shape future progress on the Mars Yard.
To join the NIKECraft Wear Tester program, post a one-minute video to your Instagram feed explaining why you want to join and tag @tomsachs and use the hashtag #nikecraftweartester. The opening shot must list your Instagram handle, your location, and your shoe size. Applications must be submitted by December 31st, 2020 at 11:59PM. More info can be found on nikecraft.com. Good luck to everyone who applies!
