WMNS Nike Dunk High “Varsity Purple” Gets US Release Date

0

Original Story (09/25/20): Continuing Nike’s extensive plans for the Dunk High throughout the rest of this year (and even through 2021), a pair of women’s-exclusive “Varsity Purple” Dunk Highs are set to hit shelves late this year.

The style is likely a nod to Nike’s 1999 Japan-exclusive “City Attack” pack that featured two purple-based styles of the inimitable Dunk high (among multiple other colorways and low-tops). This is unsurprising given the recent re-release of the previously Japan-exclusive Samba Dunks and Co.Jp Jordan 1 Retro Highs, but the model’s bold purple accents make it impossible to overlook even in a year stacked with other Dunk releases. The shoe uses classic Dunk colorblocking; its leather eyelet wings, eyestays, toebox overlays, and rubber outsoles come in a rich purple and sit atop a white leather base, toebox, and midsole.

While no official info is available yet, current rumors suggest the Nike WMNS Dunk High “Varsity Purple” will release via Nike and select retailers for $120 on December 3rd. In the meantime, check out a mockup of the shoe and a photo of the original 1999 “City Attack” purple Dunk.
