Hot off the trail of the reveal of the “Lakers” Dunk High EMB comes part two and three of the Nike “Sports Specialties” collection. Joining it is two Air Force 1s, a High and a Low, commemorating two more Los Angeles teams: the LA Kings and LA Dodgers. Each shoe features embroidery and canvas construction as an homage to the Sports Specialties team caps of the ’80s and ’90s.
The Air Force 1 LV8 EMB “LA Kings” comes in a Flat Silver, Pine Green, black and white color palette. It ties leather and canvas with corduroy Swooshes and heel detailing. An embroidered “NIKE” on the lateral heel offers a bold branding motif. The tongue gives an old-school vibe with throwback Sports Specialties branding while the graphics on the insole are made to look like the “One Size Fits All” tag on a Sports Specialties athletic cap. A white midsole and grey outsole round out the design.
As for the Air Force 1 High EMB “Dodgers,” it comes in a Rush Blue and white color scheme. It also uses a white leather upper with canvas construction but pairs with denim overlays. The “NIKE” embroidered logo gives a nod to the Dodgers’ cursive script logo. The tongue and insole give vintage creativity similar to the aforementioned. To finish off, the shoe sits on a white midsole and blue rubber outsole.
The Nike “Sports Specialities” collection is expected to release globally on April 29th via Nike.com and select retailers.
