Shipping-Inspired Custom Air Jordan 1s By KickRich

The Air Jordan 1 is one of the most well-known sneaker silhouettes ever. It has been the canvas for countless collabs between Nike and various artists, designers, and high fashion brands like Dior. For former Nike designer Jeffrey Waskowiak, aka KickRich, it was the perfect starting point to build two different customs out of non-traditional materials.

Waskowiak says the inspiration came from the current global situation, as we spend more of our time at home and rely on essential workers at places like Amazon and UPS to keep our lives running as normal as possible. Both shoes are made from the packaging that accumulates from these deliveries in many of our homes.

Amazon Prime bubble mailers make up the entirety of one shoe while UPS Express boxes make up the other. Jeffrey prides himself in his craft and refers to his pieces as wearable sculptures. You can see the level of detail and precision in both pieces as every stitch comes together perfectly. With the exception of the sole and laces everything is hand cut and crafted from the mailing material. Waskowiak says they are fully wearable and functional though he does mention they will not be as durable as leather.

While these pairs are not for sale at the moment you can follow Jeffrey on IG and check out his website for information on customs or to shop his current collection.
