Notre has unveiled its debut collaboration with Converse. While their most recent Vans collab was inspired by café drinks, the Chicago-based boutique now looks inward – to the home – for executions of the Chuck 70 and One Star that nod to thoughtful décor and craftsmanship.
The three-piece capsule features the Chuck 70 “Furniture,” One Star “Ceramic,” and Chuck 70 “Textile,” each featuring unique construction that pays homage to textures found in the home. For the “Furniture” Chuck 70, Notre opts fors a deep mahogany and ivory color scheme with crosshatch woven canvas uppers and vintage suede accents, echoing the craftsmanship of wooden furniture.
The “Ceramic” One Star comes in a minimalist grey color scheme across the canvas and suede upper, with a variation of textures and precise stitching that echo the color and details of ceramic. Lastly, the “Textile” Chuck 70 features a frost grey patchwork upper comprised of vintage-inspired herringbone and houndstooth patterns, evoking textiles found throughout the home and their associations of comfort.
To drive home the “home” theme, the campaign imagery was shot at the Bernard & Fern Schwartz House (aka Still Bend) located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. The 3,000 sq foot home was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938, originally submitted to Life Magazine as a “dream house” design for a family of moderate income.
The Notre x Converse collection launches this Saturday, November 12th exclusively via Notre. The “Ceramic” One Star and “Furniture” Chuck 70 will also be available starting December 1st via Converse.com, SNKRS, and select retailers.
