Olivia Kim, Vice President, Creative Projects at Nordstrom, has teamed up with Nike to deliver a collection of footwear and apparel, called the “No Cover” collection. It includes fresh takes on five sneaker silhouettes: the Air Force 1, Air Mowabb, Air Footscape, Air Max 98, and Air Jordan 4, as well as 16 apparel and accessory pieces.
Olivia’s style is rooted in the rave and hip-hop styles that defined NYC in the ’90s. The name “No Cover” is a reference to a cover charge you might pay at a nightclub. In Kim’s eyes, this collection is meant for everyone – men and women, the young and the old – in order to promote no judgements and no rules.
The Air Jordan 4 in this collection is inspired by the Black Cat colorway and is equipped with a black pony hair upper. The AF1 comes with a blue corduroy upper and a snakeskin Swoosh from 1996. The Air Max 98 showcases Kim’s love of dancehall/Rasta style-music with its green, yellow, and red upper. The Air Footscape features a Zebra-print upper, accented by mini yellow Swooshes on the toe and heel, while the Air Mowabb comes in a brown and black color scheme and includes modern updates to the 1991 silhouette.
The Nike by Olivia Kim apparel capsule features vibrant pink, volt, blue, orange and red colors, with the fleece hoodies and graphic tees featuring mini swooshes in glitter pink.
Kim further showcases her personal style by inviting three of her inspirations to be the face of campaign: Women’s World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe, filmmaker John Waters, and fashion model Binx Walton.
The Nike by Olivia Kim “No Cover” collection will release on October 31st at Nordstrom x Nike boutiques, online at Nordstrom.com/xNike and on SNKRS. A global release at select retailers will follow on November 8th. Scroll down for the full list of retailers.
