Patta has teamed up with Vans Vault to celebrate the intersection of British and Jamaican culture with a duo of sneakers meant to pay tribute to rude boy culture.
The models—a Chukka 79 VLT LX and a Style 36 VLT LX—come in bright but versatile colorways that include oversized Patta branding on each shoes’ heels. The Chukka 79 uses a bright mustard/dandelion color atop an olive-green rubber midsole, a riff on the colors of the Rastafari flag, while the Style 36 TC uses a purple-blue base with a black stripe and midsole and white stitching accents, a nod to the Union Jack.
Each model is made up of ballistic nylon and suede for unparalleled durability, and the “LX” designation indicates superior craftsmanship from Vans. Both shoes also feature the phrase “OUT IN THE STREETS” printed on the midsole, a reference to reggae legend Ini Kamoze that feels uniquely appropriate to today’s cultural climate.
The Patta x Vans FW20 collection is set to release in limited quantities via Patta’s app on October 30th and their website on October 31st. In other recent Vans Vault news, Notre is also gearing up to release their Vans Vault Old Skool LX collection this weekend.
