Original Story (04/29/22): pgLang, the multidisciplinary media company by Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free that launched in 2020, has been making noise recently. Kendrick Lamar’s announcement of his highly anticipated album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers came in the form of a pgLang-headed letter, and the company will be the creative force behind the album rollout these next couple weeks, leading up to the official release on May 13th. pgLang (short for “program language”) also has multiple endeavors outside of music, including a recently revealed project with Converse.
Dave Free took to Twitter to reveal two pgLang x Converse shoes, a Chuck 70 Hi and a Pro Leather Ox. Both come dressed in neutral tones, the Chuck 70 equipped with an off-white canvas upper, the Pro Leather dressed in white leather with grey suede accents. The Chuck 70 incorporates beige detailing on the All Star patch and exposed stitching, while the Pro Leather features contrasting blue stitching. Both replace their standard eyelets with metal D-rings.

Update (05/02/22): The pgLang for Converse collection launched today on Converse.com and pg-lang.com. The release of the “goodluckchuck” and “programleather” is accompanied by a short film titled “Lost for Language” that stars artist Selah Marley and pgLang’s latest signee Tanna Leone.
