LA-based and punk-inspired streetwear powerhouse PLEASURES has imbued the adidas Superstar with an inky black colorway that evokes vinyl pants, dubious nights around town, and a classic grunge sensibility.
The model uses a translucent Three Stripes branding over the blacked-out upper, with jet black enveloping the Superstar’s rubber toe caps, leather paneling, and even the midsole. Red PLEASURES branding on the sidewalls and the canvas heel supposedly represents the largest co-branding that adidas has ever put on a shoe. Notably missing is the Superstar’s traditional tongue badge, which has been stripped away in favor of a smooth black surface. The only true contrast throughout the shoe is found in its white laces, which shine brightly atop an otherwise murdered-out sneaker.
The PLEASURES x adidas Consortium Superstar is currently slated to release for $130 via retailers like Shop Nice Kicks on May 27th. Expect these to arrive as part of a full PLEASURES x adidas collection, recently teased by the LA brand. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
