Last year, Gucci posted teaser videos of a potential North Face collaboration on Instagram that sent people in the fashion world into a frenzy. In just the first couple of days of 2021, Niantic announces that Pokémon Go will also take part in this collection’s rollout.
This is the first major collaboration for Gucci under creative director Alessandro Michele’s tenure. Michele’s bold and youth-inspired creativity along with the growing trend of high fashion and gaming collaborations makes this partnership a no-brainer.
Not only will the collection be available in-store at select Gucci stores worldwide, but it will also be available in-game at over 100 select Pokéstops (located at pop-up Gucci Pins) in all 7 continents. The avatar items, which include t-shirts, backpacks, and hats, will be available for a limited time only. The North Face x Gucci collection plans to first launch at the Gucci Pins experience locations, followed by an online and select in-store release.
