In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a multidisciplinary team of doctors, medical teachers, entrepreneurs, engineers and developers in France created the #ProtègeTonSoignant campaign, a call for donations to support French healthcare personnel in the fight against the virus. Citizens, artists, and businesses are encouraged to donate funds so caregivers can get the medical devices and supplies that they need.
French fashion houses and designers have also stepped up to the cause, donating one-of-a-kind pieces that are currently being bidded on in the “La Mode s’engage” fashion auction. Dior, Chanel, Balenciaga, Sacai, and more each took on the auction’s unifying blue theme.
Stand out pieces include those donated by Sacai: two custom pairs of Nike LDV Waffles and a World Map Shirt with a blue thread around the country of France. Jean Paul Gaultier donated a bottle of his Supreme cologne, as well as striped sailor top, both signed by the renowned French designer.
