New Balance and Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow are presenting a “WE NEED LEADERS” collection of footwear and apparel, taking inspiration from Dao-Yi’s own experiences as a 4X marathoner.
The collection meshes athletic performance with casual lifestyle themes by producing a fresh New Balance 327, FuelCell RC Elite and running apparel. Created last year in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the TCS New York City Marathon, New York City and its street running culture influence the creative direction in the capsule. As both brands champion the idea of simultaneously being the best athlete and citizen at once, the limited-edition collection, which includes joggers, short sleeve t-shirts, and hoodies, prioritizes style and performance virtues.
The New Balance 327 and FuelCell RC Elite offer contrasting colorways. The former, first revealed last year, comes in a Yankee Blue & Lady Liberty green color palette, with a dark navy base, navy blue suede overlays, green on the tongue, “N” branding and outsole, completed by a cream midsole. The latter takes a lighter dressing throughout the mesh and sole. The heel equips a decreasing green detail. Both models feature a co-branded logo.

The Public School New York x New Balance “WE NEED LEADERS” collection will see an exclusive drop on the Greenhouse app on March 19th. The collection will then drop on the Public School and New Balance websites on March 21st, followed by a drop on the Foot Locker and Champs Sports online stores on March 23rd.
